How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. But how do you make them perfectly? I have tried many different recipes and methods, but none of them work. I have some tips and tricks to help you make delicious, fluffy omelets every single morning.

It is important to know that eggs can be temperamental when making omelets. They must be fresh, preferably from the organic market, and be kept cold until cooking. They must be kept cool, otherwise the whites will not form properly and the yolks may become runny. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. It is best to use room-temperature eggs if you are going to cook them right away.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. You don't want any white to get mixed up with the yolk because this could cause the omelet to curdle.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat is sufficient to cook the egg without overcooking.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. When mixing eggs, it is important to thoroughly beat them. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. First, pour half of the milk into the beaten eggs and then fold the eggs gently into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. Once the oil has gotten hot, add 1/4 cup of butter and swirl it around so that the entire pan is coated. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Flip the omelet with a spatula, or flip it upside down. Cook the other side for another minute or two. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
